This week’s guest is Steve Beresford. Steve has been a central figure in the British and international spontaneous music scenes for over forty years, freely improvising on the piano, electronics and other things with people like Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Han Bennink, John Zorn and Alterations. He has written songs, written for large and small ensembles, and scored short films, feature films, TV shows and commercials. We start the show with a retrieved file from 2003 when Steve contributed to Sarah Washington’s “15 minutes of heaven”: 43 intros and outros assembled by Steve from favourite records. The show ends with Silent Melody by The Melody Four from Joyeux Noel (nato 1987) with Steve on claviers, Lol Coxhill on saxophone, Tony Coe on claviers and clarinette and Santa.
