Masters of Chaos
Maitres de Desordre is the title of an exhibition at the Musee du Quai Branly in Paris which runs until July 29th juxtaposing exhibits of shamanism, folk art and contemporary art: Joseph Beuys’ “How to explain pictures to a dead hare” alongside costumes worn by Bulgarian wild men and African fetish objects. This week’s programme includes Yoruba drums from Benin, Vincenzo Agnetti “Pieces of Sound”, Archie Shepp “The Magic of Ju-Ju” and a lot of Haitian Voodoo drumming.
