Ironic, Sinister, Derivative

The first half of today’s programme features three tracks by the enigmatic Slovenian band Laibach who are closely associated with NSK (Neue Slovenian Kunst) a sort of Nationalist Art movement that advocates Internationalism and issues fake passports (25 pounds each) to citizens of the World. The NSK are deeply “ironic” and pose as Nazis. The Laibach tracks are Get Back and Maggie Mae from Let it Be (Mute 1988) and Sympathy for the Devil (Mute 1988), followed by two stories by Dave Greenberger from The Duplex Planet Hour, Tishaki Miyaki sings The Everly Brothers (side B), Bicephale Ballade by Berangere Maximin, Adrift by The Robert Mellin Orchestra (music for Robinson Crusoe) and finally Traktor Go Go Go by Paul and Limpe Fuchs from the CD Anima Sound, Musik fur Alle.
