Aznavour meets Otis Rush

This was supposed to be all spoken word tracks but at the last minute (hour), ‘inspired’ by the recent demise(s) of Charles Aznavour and Otis Rush, I imagined a chance encounter of these two. Perhaps Aznavour had wandered into Kimball Hall in 1956 where Otis Rush was playing with Willie Dixon, Walter Horton and others and joined in. The superimposition wasn’t successful so I played some of each separately. Followed by the intended spoken words of Lindsay Seers; Every Thought There Ever Was (extract), Milica Paranosic; I Am A Bird (performed by Roger Bonair-Agard), Finnish composer Jarmo Sermila; A Doll’s Cry (text by Marilyn Monroe), two tracks from Lady June’s Linguistic Leprosy with backing by Kevin Ayers, Zircon and The Burning Brains; Leave The Substance For The Shadow.
