Marclay and Beresford live at the Spitz 2003
Soundtrack from a 30 minute mini dv tape which I recorded at the Spitz, Spitalfields, London in 2003. Fairly raw sound but interesting nevertheless. Christian Marclay and Steve Beresford improvising on turntables and a variety of instruments. Marclay pushing large transparent vinyl LPs and a turntable to the extreme, just short of collapse. Beresford on trumpet and implements beyond my comprehension. Three ten minute performances compered by Ed Baxter. Followed by both sides of a 10″ vinyl by Mark Leckey; “Exorcism of the Bridge@eastham Rake” which accompanies his installation at Tate Britain: O’ Magic Power of Bleakness. Finally, Music by Joris Van de Moortel in a composition by Thomas de Prins performed by SPECTRA.
