Dungeness Blues

“Jeremy Reed and the Ginger Light have a new CD out called Excess and Ruin with a track about Derek (Jarman) called Dungeness Blues that could be very fitting. A book of my elegies for Derek Just Out Of Reach was published in the nineties, and latterly a sequence, much better from which Dungeness Blues is taken from a book called Bona Vada. Derek thought about filming my novel Isidore, about Lautreéamont, (Isidore Ducasse) near the end of his life, but was too ill” (Jeremy Reed). Jeremy reads Derek Jarman’s poems and some of his own, and chooses records for which Jarman had made pop videos; Marc Almond and Pet Shop Boys.
