Swimming Pool Desegregation etc.
Heard a busker on the South Bank called Joulie Fox, so bought her CD for £5 which is the first track today. The sound of her voice in the open air, near the river, was better than the CD but still… After that, “One May Morning” by Karen Dalton (because it’s May). “The Swimming Pool Desegregation Campaign” as told by Mabel Williams. “Geographer – for Luther Thomas Cupp, 1947-1974” by Marilyn Hacker. “L’An Cinquante-Six”, text by Claude Pascal, read by Silvia Montfort with music by Pierre Henry. Two tracks by Julianna Barwick from the album “Will”. And three and a half tracks from Saigon Super Sound; South Vietnamese Pop music from 1965-75.
