This programme followed a successful screening of “It’s My Own Invention” at South Bank University to a small but interested audience and in the presence for the first time of the subject; Hugh de la Cruz. Consequently, today’s agenda sort of fell apart. It was intended to feature Frédéric Acquaviva and a bundle of records and CDs which he gave to me last week at the Offprint artists’ book fair in Tate Modern. Frédéric managed to mis-spell Wavelength twice in his publications as Wavelenght. Today’s programme therefore took a more relaxed approach, commencing with Helen Cammock’s recording; From Flag day being side A from Moveable Bridge. Then, Yeh-Yeh! by Lambert, Hendricks and Bavan (1963) the precursor to Georgie Fame’s version. Revelator by Gillian Welch. No Rights by Henry Flynt from Graduation and other new country and blues music (1975-79). Finally; Paragraph 2 by Cornelius Cardew from The Great Learning.
