Under Dubwood
The catalyst for today’s programme is a 45rpm single which I bought a couple of days ago called Under Dubwood by the Dubwood Allstars which pairs Richard Burton reading from Under Milkwood by Dylan Thomas over a dub background. After that comes a remarkable composition by Genevieve Blons dating from 1942 called Credo in US which fuses shortwave radio broadcasts from that era. Those two tracks run into a fairly risky selection of poetry, bursts of Charles Hayward from One Big Atom and some other pieces as yet undecided…
