Hybrid skiffle surf and other

This week’s programme starts with a CD/record which plays on turntables and CD players which is the most remarkable thing about Long Hair (demo) by Pearl Charles. Several skiffle tracks ensue including one rarity from 1948 by The Original London Blue Blowers; Fag Paper Stomp. The original London Blue Blowers formed in 1945 and played spasm and jug band music until 1948. With the coming of the skiffle craze they re-formed as the Bill Bailey Skiffle Group. Fag Paper Stomp is one of only two surviving recordings of the Blue Blowers from the 1940s. Stormy Monday by Alexis Korner (Herbie Goins vocal). Some tracks from Wail on the Beach; Hot Rod and Surf Sizzlers on the Satan label, notably Trophy Run by Bob Moore and The Temps with a young Roy Buchanan. Visioni Sconvolgenti by experimental drummer Bruce Ditmas. Port of London Atmos by Derek Bailey and Keith Rowe recorded at the New Arts Lab, London in 1969 from the double CD Gracility issued in 2009.
